The always beautiful Maria Kosti is a welcome presence and familiar face featured in many of the popular films by Amando De Ossorio, although her film and television career certainly does not begin and end there.

Her first credited film role was in the 1966 international hit "Django", and shortly after that was a featured personality interviewed by Felix Martialay in the short, "Flash 12" (1968).

Apparent smaller roles soon gave way to bigger parts with each film, as she found herself cast in frequent starring roles in many of the early-mid 70's classic Spanish horror films.  Roles in movies such as "Saga de los Dracula", a.k.a. "Saga of the Draculas"(1972), "Rebelion de las Muertas", a.k.a. "Vengeance of the Zombies" (1973), the atmospheric Blind Dead entry "La Noche de las Gaviotas", a.k.a. "Night of the Seagulls (1975), and the quirky "La Endemoniada", a.k.a. "Demon Witch Child" (1975).

A very busy actress, Maria Kosti has worked consistently in both television and film right through to January 2006, when she was featured on an episode of "Cine de Barrio", a popular television series.

In "Noche de los Brujos", we find Ms. Kosti portraying a rather racist, cruel, wealthy brat named Liz, who seems to have problems with just about every member of the expedition party except for Carol, whom she appears to have had some sort of deep affection for at some point.  This is made all too apparent during an evening scene inside of the tent they are sharing.

As the bitchy Liz, Ms. Kosti is both cruel and scheming, but also brings a sense of human fallacy to her role, invoking a little sympathy and understanding for her character, and one senses that although she hesitates not in reminding the others that her father has paid for the expedition and for their wages, that she may slightly resent it as well.

Jealous, spiteful and more than a little lonely for her missing tent companion Carol, Liz is surprised when Carol returns and wakes her from a pill-induced deep sleep.  Dazed and disoriented, Liz follows her friend to the clearing in the forest, unaware that what she is following is no longer human.
